"There is one day that is ours. Thanksgiving Day is the one day that is purely American" - O. Henry
"Thanksgiving, man. Not a good day to be my pants." - Kevin James
As our Club begins the Holiday Season we have MUCH to be thankful for this year. We are blessed to have a Club in a community like Harlingen where we can gather in the spirit of Service Above Self and try to make our little corner of the world a better one for future generations. A great example of this was our Club's Service Project that began last week at RioFest. Thanks to Jennifer Allen at the United Way, we had a table where Sumer Knight helped youngsters in building 'Seed-Bombs' to help encourage native plant species to grow in our parks. This project is a two parter as this coming weekend Harlingen youth will gather at Ramsey nature Park to throw out the seed bombs on the nature trails. Thanks Sumer for taking the time to create such an amazing project!
We are also thankful to have some fun other projects coming up. Later next year, we will be giving back to Harlingen in a substantial way with our upcoming improvement project to the Harlingen Soccer Complex. For any of you with kids or grandkids who play soccer, you know that this is one of the most heavily used parks in Harlingen and we can't wait to do our part to leave it a little bit better for the kids in our town.
Additional Projects are on the way so please see the attached Calendar and we hope you can join us!
I hope each and every one of you has a fantastic Thanksgiving. I am thankful to each of you for what you do for this club and for Harlingen.
