Brisa is a recent Columbia University graduate with a Master of Science in Social Work concentrating on Policy and International Social Welfare and holds background experience in international humanitarian aid, nonprofit leadership, and research. Her dedication to advocacy includes developing a Women's Leadership Program in Afghanistan to being selected to speak on human rights and policy at the Congressional Research Institute for Social Work and Policy in Washington, D.C. Brisa spearheaded original research focusing on the wellbeing of refugees in Turkey. She is the recipient of the Hoffman Writing Award from Columbia University for the importance and proposal development of her research study.
