Blue Sunday Child Abuse Prevention Initiative (Blue Sunday) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with two goals:
1) To raise awareness among the faith community through our Blue Ribbon Church program and our annual National Blue Sunday Day of Prayer for Abused Children which is always the last Sunday of April which is child abuse prevention month.
2) Meet the needs the needs of abused children living in the Rio Grande Valley.
Remi Gibbs officially joined Rotary in 2016 upon moving to Harlingen, as a tribute to her father, who was a past president in his northern California chapter before passing. She is currently serving her second term on the board; this year as Membership Director. She grew up in southern Illinois and the Houston area; graduating from Sam Houston State University. Most of her adult life has been spent in Phoenix and Las Vegas. She received her Master’s Degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. She has a background in hospitality sales and marketing, as well as, corporate event planning. She has two small businesses in Harlingen. Creative Marketing Avenue, provides marketing and event consulting. To fulfill her deep passion for animals, she operates Critter Caretaker, a pet-sitting company. She also runs an Airbnb from her home. When not working, Remi can be found hanging with her fur-kids and hubby. She is an avid traveler and loves exploring new places and cultures. She considers herself a foodie and is always excited to try new restaurants and dishes.
