Our 25th Annual Shrimp Fest will be held on Feb. 16, 2019
The ALL NEW Shrimp Fest will showcase several RGV restaurants presenting their signature shrimp dishes in a small-bite tasting format. A VIP tent will be serving a boiled shrimp plate. The Retro Rockers and Super Tree will be performing on the main stage. A Silent Auction will be available for your shopping pleasures. Beer & Wine available for purchase.
Tickets are $25 each and all club members are asked to sell 10 tickets each.  You can buy VIP tickets at a club meeting.
The success of this fund raiser depends on the support of all club members

Dr. Guy H. Bailey
is a sociolinguist and the 1st president of the University of Texas–Rio Grande Valley. He was the president of the University of Alabama, his baccalaureate alma mater.  He was previously the president of Texas Tech University and held earlier positions at Emory University, Texas A&M University, and Oklahoma State University, prior to serving as dean of liberal arts at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. From there he became provost of the University of Texas at San Antonio. Before assuming the role at Texas Tech, he was the chancellor of the University of Missouri–Kansas City.

Member Spotlight - Wayne Lowry
The Spotlight is on...
Wayne Lowry
Wayne Lowry is the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of the Rio Grande Valley; a Christian based non-profit organization dedicated to the ideal that everyone deserves a decent place to live. The organization has been building homes for low-income families in the Rio Grande Valley since 1988. This year, Habitat for Humanity is on pace to build 12 homes, 80 aging in place repairs, and 100 disaster repair projects.
Since December 2014, Wayne has overseen the daily operations across the four county region, including the McAllen and Harlingen ReStores, a home improvement store and donation center providing affordable material to the public in attempt to help raise funds to build more homes in the Rio Grande Valley.
Wayne is a native of Houston, TX and has resided in Harlingen, TX for the last 11 years. He received his Bachelor’s in Science and Behavioral Science at the University of Houston Clear Lake in 2007. Wayne was ordained an Evangelist with the Church of Christ in 2003 and has severed in numerous national outreach ministries. He has been married to Lacey Lowry for 15 years, and has three beautiful children.
