Last Week
Luis Cavazos, our LT Governor presiding over District 5930 was the Guest Speaker at our Rotary meeting on Friday, August 7th.

Mr. Cavazos delivered an impactful address regarding our Rotary’s mission to continue building fellowship and goodwill in our respectful districts. Coping with the COVID – 19 pandemic has challenged all Rotarians to implement and enforce the endless opportunities to help the world heal in accordance with our true core values. He also addressed public image and public service as tools to build Rotary’s core foundation.

Thank You, Luis for your inspiring words of support as we extend good will in respective communities!

New Member Spotlight

Daniel Martinez is a small business owner who has owned his Farmers Insurance agency in Harlingen for the last 6 years. He is a native of Harlingen where he was born and raised and continues to give back to the community through his insurance agency. Daniel continues to demonstrate growth as a small business owner and a community leader by partnering with other small businesses and organizations by giving back when it matters most.

He loves to live an active lifestyle by working out, and also loves to travel with his wife, Audrey. When he isn’t traveling he enjoys the outdoors with his two dogs Ace, and Peaches. He is excited to join Harlingen Rotary and work with the wonderful people we have in our community.

Other News
The Harlingen Public Library is not hosting any private events at all, and meetings of more than same-household folks are strongly discouraged by CDC and local government.
We are considering other options for face-to-face meetings including a hybrid zoom with face-to-face.

  • Zoom works best on a full-sized computer, instead of on your phone.  This is especially true for being able to see other participants.
  • Zoom works best when you're using a stable video camera, like on a computer, instead of trying to hold your phone
  • If you're not speaking, please mute your line.
  • If you are sitting in a room with somebody else on the same meeting, one of you will have to mute your line and turn your volume all the way down, to avoid feedback.
  • Try to avoid bright lights behind you, so we can see you.
