Colonel Moriarty was born in Memphis, TN on September 11, 1950. Raised in Hot Springs, AK. He was commissioned through the Air Force Officer Training School at Lackland AFB, TX and entered active duty in June 1973. The colonel has served in key positions in fighter operations, mission support and staff assignments in war plans, multi-service liaison duty and operational support activities, including Headquarters U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Headquarters Air Combat Command and the U.S. Army Aviation Warfighting Center and numerous overseas deployments. The colonel retired in May of 1999, as the Senior Air Force Representative to the Commanding General of Army Aviation Center at Ft Rucker, AL. Colonel Cliff Moriarty is the Senior Aerospace Science Instructor at AFJROTC TX-961, Rio Hondo,TX. He is responsible for the high school’s citizenship training program for more than 70 students at Rio Hondo High School & manages one additional instructor.

Married to the former Mary Kay Thompson of Austin, Texas. One daughter (Katlyn Courtney Moriarty Orth) and two granddaughters (Kathleen Rose Orth & Mary Louise Orth). Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow. Currently resides in Laguna Vista, Texas.
