Cory was born in Houston, Texas in 1983 to Chrys and Glenn Boyd. Chrys was a teacher for 30 + years and his father expanded his aptitudes in ministry and psychology. He is the middle of two brothers, Reagan and Andrew. After attending Kempner High School, Cory went on to earn his BS from Texas State in 2007 with a major in psychology and a minor in political science. He graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio in 2010 with his Master of Science in psychology.
While in graduate school, he met his beautiful, talented wife, Monica. Their first daughter, Eva Boyd, was born in Harlingen, Tx on May 19 in 2015.
Cory spent several years working as a case-manager with Lutheran Social Services and Giocosa foster care agencies. While earning his license as a Professional Counselor, Cory worked in a private practice setting and several medical offices as well as Texas State Technical College. Cory continues to practice in a private setting as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Harlingen.
