In order for this to be a successful event, we need all members to start collecting items to be used in the auction (Large & Small items). If you would like to donate an item, please contact Eddie Bartnesky.
Today's program is about District 5390 Youth Exchange and will be presented by Joel Vincent. One of the things that is an important aspect of the Club is our youth exchange and I know that most of our members really don't understand what it takes for the program to be successful. When you leave the meeting today you have a better understanding of what Jim Teeter & Joel Vincent are doing to make sure we are always doing the right thing for our exchange program.
We will meet at the Cultural Art's Center, next to the Public Library.
Our own Bob & Nancy Grider, Marvin Emsley, Terry Stringfield and Robert Gibbs are featured. Cost is $20each and will be available for pick-up on Thursday, December 14 from 5:30pm – 7:00pm at the American Legion at 504 American Legion Dr, Harlingen, TX 78550. This reception will provide an opportunity to meet some of the Veterans that posed in the calendar. A second pick-up opportunity will be at the Harlingen Farmer’s Market on Saturday, December 30 from 3:00pm – 4:30pm.
Ava Sandlin was the guest speaker at our last Rotary meeting. Ava serves as the Executive Director of the local Make A Wish Foundation.
Granting wishes to kids with life-threatening medical conditions gives them more than an amazing experience. A wish come true has the power to make kids feel stronger, more courageous, and more determined to overcome their illnesses. Many families and healthcare providers believe the wish experience is the turning point in a wish kid's battle against their illness. Your gift today can help Make-A-Wish® achieve our mission to grant the wish of every eligible child. Grant a wish and help change a child's life.
