Robert "Bob" Grider!!
Robert Grider was born in Munich Germany on 21 January 1958.  He graduated from Ball State University with a BS in Biology. He was commissioned a 2nd Lt. in the US Marine Corps in 1972 through the Platoon leaders Class Program.  Following his commissioning he reported to Quantico to attend Basic School. Upon completion he was assigned to the 2nd Marine Division as an infantry Platoon Commander in the 6th Marine Regiment, stationed in Camp Lejeune. Lt. Col Grider served as an Exec. Officer of an Infantry company and served two tours as Infantry Company Commander, In addition he served as Executive officer on the USS Forrestal, Company Officer at the Naval Academy, Battalion Ops Officer and S4 Officer for 3rd Marine Regiment, Tactics Group Chief and Operations Officer for the Basic School in Quantico and Exec Officer, 8th Marine Regiment.  He also served as Asst. Ops Officer for Joint Task Force 160, Guantanamo, Cuba. It was at Guantanamo that he met the Love of his Life, Nancy Gail Rogers who was serving as a Nurse in the US Navy? They were married and have three children, Christopher, Andrea and Rebecca.
Lt Col Grider also graduated from amphibious Warfare School, Fort Benning Jump School, Marine Corps Command and Staff College and the Army War College.  After retirement, Lt Col Grider accepted the position of Director of Admissions for the Marine Military Academy in 1995, currently he is serving as Director of Development.  He is a past president of the Harlingen Rotary Club and works with many charitable organizations. He is also an active member of the First Methodist Church, Harlingen.
