Happy New Year Rotary Harlingen!!!
Invocation: Joel Vincent
Pledge: Victor Rivera
Song: Juju Stringfield
I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season. We are excited to have another year of fellowship and service to our community as we countdown to the 100th Birthday of our club! It seems like a short time ago we celebrated the 100th Anniversary of Harlingen's founding and now we celebrate a century of giving back to the town we are lucky to call home. We are back to regular meetings this week at the Hilton and have Ginger Cunningham, Trauma Program Manager at Valley Baptist presenting this week.
The first thing we can all do is think about those individuals who have been instrumental to the success of Harlingen and nominating them for the Harlingen Walk of Fame. Membership in the Club is not required to be honored and the information is below. Please reach out to Tre Peacock with any questions.
Nominations are now open for the 2023 Harlingen Walk of Fame Honors. Applications are listed below and will be at the meeting this week. Nominations are due by February 15th.
Additionally, we bid a fond farewell to longtime Rotarian Shane Strubhart. Shane has been a fantastic member of the club and leader in the community. We will miss him greatly but are happy for the new opportunity he and his family have received in Spring. Feel free to visit anytime Shane! This has also opened up a spot on our Board of Directors for the Club as a Membership Chair. If you are interested, please contact me and let me know at your soonest convenience.
Also, in case you hadn't heard, SHRIMPFEST 2023 is around the corner.
This is our largest fundraiser each year and the amount we receive is determined by number of tickets each club sells. So, buy and sell your tickets and, if you haven't done it yet, SIGN UP to volunteer. We look forward to seeing you all there.
Finally, if you've yet to pay your dues; YOUR DUES ARE LATE!!
Please make your payment ASAP!
See you mañana!!!!!!!
