Loaves & Fishes of Harlingen extends its sincere gratitude to the Rotary Shrimp Fest of South Texas for their generous donation of $1,000 in appreciation for the use of our kitchen facilities to prepare the shrimp and side dishes for Rotary's Annual Shrimp Fest.
For many years, this partnership has reflected the very best of what community service is all about, neighbors working together to serve others. Each year, our kitchen becomes a place where volunteers gather, friendships are strengthened, and a shared commitment to helping our community comes to life.
We are especially grateful to Rotary Shrimp Fest President and fellow Rotarian, Eddie Bartnesky, who personally presented this generous donation on behalf of the Rotary Shrimp Fest of South Texas. Eddie's leadership, dedication, and commitment to service exemplify the values that make Rotary such a powerful force for good in our community.
As both President of the Rotary Club and Executive Director of Loaves & Fishes, I humbly accepted this gift on behalf of our organization. We view this partnership not as a transaction, but as a reflection of our shared commitment to service. Rotary's motto, "Service Above Self," and the mission of Loaves & Fishes are united by a common purpose, serving our neighbors with compassion, dignity, and hope.
This contribution will help us continue providing meals and support to individuals and families facing food insecurity throughout our community. More importantly, it serves as a reminder of what can be accomplished when organizations and volunteers come together for the greater good.
