FELLOW ROTARIANS,

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Visioning Workshop this past Saturday. It was energizing to see new and seasoned members join together, ready to shape the future of our club. Special thanks to the Visioning Team from District 5930: Andy Hagan, Elsa Hagan, and Mary McQueen  for facilitating and leading the way. We also extend our gratitude to HCISD for hosting us, and to fellow Rotarian and Superintendent Dr. Veronica Kortan for opening the space and demonstrating true partnership. The work we did together laid a solid foundation for where we’re headed.

During the workshop, we talked openly about who we are, what we value, and where we want to be in the next three years. There’s power in that kind of clarity. What emerged wasn’t just a vision, it was alignment. We left with purpose, energy, and a shared commitment to build a stronger, more inclusive, and more impactful Rotary Club of Harlingen.

Last week’s speaker reminded us why vision matters. A big thank you to Priscilla Ann Quintero, Lead Maternal Fetal Medicine Diagnostic Sonographer at Driscoll Children’s Hospital, for closing out July’s programming with insight and compassion. Her 22 years of experience added valuable depth to our focus on maternal and child health.

Looking ahead, on Friday, August 1, we shift the spotlight to each other with Classification Talks. August is Membership and Extension Month, the perfect time to deepen connections. These talks go beyond bios and job descriptions; they reveal what drives us, what we bring to Rotary, and how we connect as a community. We encourage everyone to show up ready to engage because better understanding leads to stronger leadership.
