Now, back to our regularly scheduled bulletin.....

Thank you to Victor Rivera for representing our club at the Literacy Center of Harlingen's spelling bee last night!  Shout outs to him and to our club members Kristin Luckey, Julie Fonseca, Ricky Leal, and Shane Strubhart who all helped our community at this great event!

NO MEETING NEXT WEEK

We have been trying to find a speaker for weeks now to come speak to our Club about Veteran's Day for next week's meeting.  Unfortunately, this year, this day of honoring our Veterans falls on a Friday.  As there are so many deserving community events that day we have been unable to find a speaker who is not previously committed to events. Instead, this year, we ask and encourage each of you to take the time to attend one of the many events available to the public that day.  Our club is blessed to have a strong contingent of veterans from all branches of the military who have served our country and, now, their community.  We say thank you to each of you for your service to our country.

Service Project Announcement!

We have an upcoming project to help beautify our parks in Harlingen!  We need volunteers to help assist.  See the information below and speak with Sumer Knight for any questions.  This should be fun!

See you all this afternoon for a presentation from the Heart Gallery!

Coaches' Forum
Last week was our annual Coaches' Forum and we were lucky to have Coaches Manny Gomez, Israel Gonzalez, and Bobby Lucio speaking on behalf of Harlingen High, Harlingen South, and Marine Military Academy.  A huge thanks to the cheer squads from each school, the Vela Middle School drumline, MC Eladio Jaimez, and, especially, Kristen Luckey, Shane Strubhart, and Charlie Abrego for putting on such a great event.  We heard about what to expect from the the schools this year, as well as how the coaches approach their roles.  Thanks to all who attended and participated!
