Stories
We have broken ground!

The Rotary Club of Harlingen and Habitat for Humanity have broken ground on this year's signature project, a new home at 213 E. Washington, Harlingen, TX. Stay tuned for project updates and eventually the selection of a great family to live in the home.

Nick Consiglio was our guest speaker at our last meeting.  He currently serves as the President of the Board for Keep Harlingen Beautiful organization.  Also in attendance with him were Melissa Boykin, Executive Director, and John Avilez, Manager of Recycling Center.  The purpose of the organization is to empower and educate the community to clean and beautify the environment and to recycle. Harlingen Proud works very closely with the City of Harlingen is all areas of beautification, recycling, graffiti abatement, litter prevention, illegal dumping issues and education.  He closed by answering a few questions.
Thanks to the Rotarians who participated and helped with the Bark Bark Expo!  It was a great time!
The Annual Rotary Adoption Awareness Picnic will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25th from 3:00PM to 6:00PM at the Cameron County Fairgrounds in San Benito, TX.  Consider giving an hour, two or three, to this wonderful program that honors children who have been taken from their parents  for reasons of abuse or neglect and placed in foster care.
