📣 MY FELLOW ROTARIAN,
This past Friday, August 22, 2025, we were energized by Andy Hagan, PDG and D5930 Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) Chairman. He delivered an engaging Membership Updates & Club Membership Olympic Challenge, driving home the importance of Membership Month and Extension, and introducing the spirit of our Membership Olympics—a fun, competitive way to boost engagement and growth across the club.

In perfect alignment with Membership Month and the spirit of the Membership Olympics, we proudly inducted seven new Rotarians into the Rotary Club of Harlingen: Ruben Perez II, Ramiro Maldonado, Yolanda Brydone, Dillon Dawi, David Gutierrez, Nicole Daniell, and Jesse Gamez. Their arrival strengthens our club’s energy, reach, and impact. A heartfelt thank-you goes to their sponsors Edna Tamayo, Juanita Stringfield, Tré Peacock, and Lucy Cadenas for championing Rotary’s growth and sharing the power of service with others. Together, we continue building a vibrant and expanding club family.

Honoring Our New Paul Harris Fellow
We proudly recognize fellow Rotarian, Kayla Gonzalez of the American Red Cross as our newest Paul Harris Fellow, honored by Jujú Stringfield for her outstanding civic leadership during recent regional disasters. As Executive Director of the South Texas Red Cross, Kayla has played a vital role in mobilizing resources, leading response efforts, and supporting communities in times of greatest need. Her dedication reflects the very spirit of Rotary service, and we are grateful to celebrate her contributions.

Stepping Up for Service
A heartfelt thank-you goes to Darla Richmond, Cindy Worley, Lucy Cadenas, Claudia Lyle, Juju Stringfield, Chris Boswell, and all the family and friends who have already donated canned goods, contributed funds, and helped us keep the shelves stocked at Loaves & Fishes. Your generosity is proof that when we join together, Rotary service makes a tangible difference. As Darla showed us with her impromptu plea and flyer, hunger never ends and neither should our commitment. The food drive will continue, and we encourage every member to take part.
Please bring canned goods to our meetings or drop them off directly at Loaves & Fishes, 514 S E Street, Harlingen, TX 78550. Every item counts, and together, our small acts of service add up to something much larger.
