Taking the First Step, Leading with Confidence

Last Friday, we welcomed Dr. Benjamin Clinton, Founder and President of Beacon Administrative Consulting and a fellow Rotarian, as our featured speaker. Drawing from his personal experience as a young leader in a struggling school, Dr. Clinton shared a candid and inspiring message about confidence, courage, and the importance of taking the first step, even when the path ahead is uncertain. His story reminded us that leadership begins with belief and grows through action and service.

Benjamin would also appreciate hearing your feedback and reflections on his talk. To make this quick and easy, he's provided a short Tally form that should take no more than a couple of minutes to complete. Your input is valuable and helps guide his future talks. January is Rotary Vocational Service Month 💼, a time to honor the dignity of work and our responsibility to use our professions to serve others. We were recently inspired by Rotarian Benjamin Clinton, Founder and President of Beacon Administrative Consulting, who shared his personal journey as a young leader and offered lessons on confidence, courage, and taking the first step 🎤. Looking ahead, Dr. Zain Sayeed, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, will join us on January 23 to share insights on joint health, mobility, and improving quality of life.

Rotary also recommits to serving with purpose 🤝. The second Rotary blood drive 🩸 will be hosted at Loaves & Fishes 🍞🐟, with a goal of collecting 100 pints across this Rotary year and the next because meaningful service truly saves lives ❤️‍🩹. And yes, don’t forget to keep selling ShrimpFest tickets!🍤Your support makes this our biggest fellowship and fundraising event of the year!

A heartfelt congratulations to Victor Leal, who earned his Paul Harris Fellow pin with two red rubies, recognizing his years of dedication and contributions to The Rotary Foundation. His achievement reminds us all of the impact of sustained service.

Finally, a moving moment to celebrate: Darla, Edna, and Rico and other members of the club stepped in to support a young man from the Tamayo Boys’ House, showing that sometimes small acts of kindness can change a life. Let’s all take a moment this month to look for opportunities to help those in need 🌟.

A new year brings new opportunities. Let’s make this one a year of professionalism, generosity, courage, and action—together 🚀.
