Last Friday at Golden Palms, we had an excellent program featuring McKenzie Curl, MPH, who presented on Community Health Paramedicine. 🚑
McKenzie, a public health professional with experience in epidemiology, community health, and EMS, shared insights from her work as Project Coordinator for the Community Health Paramedicine program with the South Texas Emergency Care Foundation, where she focuses on improving patient outcomes and connecting residents with proactive, community-based care.
It was a great program that showed how innovative healthcare initiatives are improving access to care and addressing real needs in our communities. 🌎

🌸 Spring Social – Replaces Next Week’s Meeting
Our Spring Social on Thursday, March 19 at 5:30 PM will take the place of our regular club meeting next week.
We recently had the pleasure of hosting a Rotary orientation for some of our newest members, welcoming Jamie Barrientos, Augustine and Louisa Davis, and Emylee and Jesse Capetillo to the club.
The session was led by Past District Governor Eddie Bartnesky, Past President Kathy Preddy, Past President Lucy Cadenas, Membership Chair Edna Tamayo, and current President Victor Rivera. Together, they shared insights about Rotary’s mission, the impact of service above self, and the many ways members can get involved in meaningful community work.
It was a great opportunity to connect, learn, and officially begin the Rotary journey for these new members. We are excited to have them as part of our Rotary family and look forward to the impact we will make together. 🔵
🍤 Volunteers Needed
We are looking for Rotarian volunteers on Friday to help cook shrimp at Loaves & Fishes before the big day. This is a great hands-on service opportunity and a fun way to support an important community effort. If you can lend a hand, please plan to join us. 👨🍳🤝
Ramiro Maldonado is already in full Shrimp Fest mode. 🦐 Help us spread the word and join us for the 30th Annual Shrimp Fest, it’s going to be bigger, better, and a whole lot of fun.
Lucy Cadenas getting some early time with our newest “future Rotarian.” 💙 Baby Capetillo, the newest addition to Jesse and Emylee Capetillo’s family, is already surrounded by service-minded role models.
Shrimp Fest teamwork in action. 🦐 Don’t miss it, and make sure you grab your tickets.
