Representatives from the Rio Grande Valley Birding Festival presented the program at our last meeting. Pictured above are David Schibi – President, Sue Griffin – Chair, and Marilyn Vincent – Volunteer. They are a non-profit organization with no paid staff, all volunteers. Now approaching two decades of existence, the Rio Grande Valley Birding Festival has had a sizeable economic impact on Harlingen and the Rio Grande Valley. Studies show area monetary inputs of millions annually. The effects of this economic powerhouse ripple out into crucial areas—conservation (critical in this fast-growing area), local awareness, youth involvement, and beyond. They closed by answering questions.
The Humane Society, Harlingen Park's Department, Harlingen Animal Control and other local Pet support organizations will be participating at our event by providing information about pet adoption, city codes and general responsibilities for pet owners. Come enjoy the fun!
The Annual Rotary Adoption Awareness Picnic will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25th from 3:00PM to 6:00PM at the Cameron County Fairgrounds in San Benito, TX.
