McKenzie is a public health professional with experience in epidemiology, community health, and emergency medical services. She currently serves as a Project Coordinator for the Community Health Paramedicine program with the South Texas Emergency Care Foundation, where she works to improve patient outcomes, reduce unnecessary emergency service use, and connect residents with proactive, community-based care.
Her background includes work in COVID-19 response and epidemiology with Cameron County Public Health, as well as research with UTHealth, where she co-authored a published research article.
