"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy," - Benjamin Franklin
Happy Monday Harlingen Rotary! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and that your favorite teams emerged victorious in football. If they didn't, well, as last week's speaker taught us, just laugh it off. Mrs. Marge Flados did an excellent job last Friday reminding us to not take ourselves too seriously and I think we all enjoyed her great presentation to the Club.
REMINDER: NO FRIDAY MEETING THIS WEEK
We hope to see you all Thursday evening for our monthly Happy Hour Social to be held at Cork & Craft in Harlingen. Jackson Street Cork & Craft is located at 204 W Jackson, Harlingen, TX 78550 and we will meet from 5:30 until you wish to leave.
PLEASE SIGN UP! Our Regional Assembly for District 5930 will be on Saturday October 15th. Click here for more information.
Not to make our Club seem like we have a problem with libations, but mark your calendars for Friday, October 14th as we will be having our first ever Oktoberfest Pints for Polio Pub Crawl! This fun event will be held to raise funds and awareness for Polio Eradication efforts. We hope to see you there. Details coming soon!
SERVICE PROJECTS:
Our drive to support the Harlingen Humane Society was a great success! Thank you to all those who contributed your efforts to help our four legged friends in the community. Special thanks to Sumer Knight, Tre' Peacock, Janette Peacock, and Kathy Preddy for helping deliver the items.
Have a great week, and don't forget to bring your friends, spouses, and future Rotarians to our Happy Hour Social!
